Am I eligible to be a member of the NVIOT Forum?

The criteria for membership of the NVIOT forum are as follows:

Full Member (Steering Committee and Work Group participation):

1. Shall be a global vendor of 3GPP standards based products (core network and radio access).
   
2. Shall have a common customer with at least one of the existing full members on an interface within the scope of the NVIOT Forum.
   
3. Shall be willing to contribute to one or more of the work groups.
   
4. Shall be willing to adopt the NVIOT Forum methodology and rules.
   
5. Subject to the approval of the existing full members.

Associate Member (Work Group participation):

1. Shall be a vendor of 3GPP standards based products (core network and/or radio access, and/or mobile stations and/or mobile platform provider).
   
2. Shall have a common customer with at least one of the existing full members on an interface within the scope of NVIOT Forum.
   
3. Shall be willing to contribute to one or more of the work groups. Work groups an associate member is allowed to participate in are assigned by the Steering Committee.
   
4. Shall be willing to adopt the NVIOT Forum methodology and rules.
   
5. Subject to the approval of the existing full members.

How do I become a member of the NVIOT Forum?

In order to request membership of the NVIOT forum a formal request should be sent by e-mail to chairperson@nviot-forum.org.

The mail should include a completed application form, which requires the following information:

1. Description of your company.
   
2. Description of your product(s) and compliance to the 3GPP standards.
   
3. Type of application: full or associate.
   
4. Justification of your compliance to the NVIOT Forum membership criteria.
   
5. Your goal in joining the NVIOT Forum.
   
6. Your value add to the NVIOT Forum and how you would see your active participation to it and to which work groups.
   
7. Any other information you deem necessary.

Are there any costs associated with membership?

No membership fee is required; however there are some ongoing costs that potential members need to bear in mind:

Every member is expected to bear their own costs with regards to contribution to NVIOT Forum work groups, e.g. travel and accommodation costs.
   
Full members are expected to host Steering Committee meetings on a rotating chairperson basis.
   
Full and associate members are expected to host work group meetings, for work groups that they contribute  to, on a rotational basis.

I am an operator; can I be a member of the NVIOT Forum?

Only vendors that fulfil the conditions for membership can apply for membership of the NVIOT Forum.

Once I am a member, what are my obligations?

As a member of the NVIOT Forum the following obligations apply:

Full Members:

Shall contribute to one or more of the work groups.
   
Shall participate at Steering Committee meetings.
   
Shall host the Steering Committee on a rotating chairperson basis.

 Associate members:

Shall contribute to one or more of the work groups as decided by the Steering Committee.
   
Shall host the work groups that they contribute to on a rotational basis.

How do I leave the NVIOT Forum?

If a member decides to leave the NVIOT Forum it should send a formal e-mail to chairperson@nviot-forum.org requesting that its membership be terminated.

Membership of the NVIOT Forum can also be terminated by the Steering Committee, for example if the member is deemed to not be contributing to the Forum activities.

On leaving the NVIOT Forum the member loses the right to participate in the work of the Forum and the right to use any documentation, logos etc produced by the Forum.
